Continental or Conti is a German automotive part manufacturing company. They are one of the pioneers in the industry as founded so early in 1871. Their products have been capturing the market for decades, and one of the ubiquitous products is the PureContact tire.Â
In 2012, Continental Tire released a premium model, the PureContact. This tire was an all-season tire that made the world go around the buzz.Â
Tests and reviews about this tire, since it got introduced, have been taking over the internet. So, let’s explore our Continental PureContact tire review based on actual user experiences.
Several special traits are featured in this tire. The first is that it has a fairly deep tread design. This design is for the multi-purposes that the tire will serve as it adds to the product’s flexibility in different weather conditions.Â
The application of Continental’s Eco Plus technology on the thread improves fuel efficiency, which will be beneficial over time for users’ budgets.Â
The second is the visual Tuned Performance Indicators, which have the three letters DWS on the outer layer of the tire. These letters signal how much the tire is worn and what environment you should use it in.Â
If you find the letter S (snow) faded from the tread, then you’ll know that the tire has lost its optimal grip in snowy weather. And D (dry) and W (wet) work in the same principle. Â
Thirdly, the brand uses ComfortRide technology that absorbs vibration with additional cushioning rubber placed inside the tire. This advancement promises users the most comfortable ride, bump-free, and quiet. Â
And above are all the features specialized in Continental PureContact. Let’s sum up some of the main pros and cons.Â
Continental PureContact Reviews: Pros And Cons
Tire Drive Test
In our opinion, this PureContact tire is a well-rounded performer that will satisfy most drivers with its on-road manners.Â
We have tested it on various road conditions and concluded that it excels in light and heavy snow environments and performs strongly in wet and crisp handling in dry with very good traction. Â
Some reviews state that the deep tread is not suitable for snow weather, for the cram of snow makes it too slippery to operate, and drivers might lose control.Â
But subjectively, we found no problems driving in this condition. There were one or two slips here and there but never were we out of control of the steering wheel.Â
Upon further research, some articles indicate that crammed snow in the tread helps hug the road better due to the traction between the snow itself, and we think that is what happens here.Â
The DWS indicators are very visual and helpful, and after 10,000 miles of road, they all remain perfectly intact on our tires.Â
It would have been a pity if we didn’t mention the visual Alignment Indicators that help with signals for proper alignment. As we see, there are no tilted tires or anything out of the ordinary, and there is even wear on the tires. Â
We find the tires are very comfortable and easy to handle. The noise is minimum, even though we don’t think that its ComfortRide technology has much to offer. In our opinion, noise is rather dictated by the compound of the material than some extra cushions.Â
We also have high expectations for the number of miles we’ll get from these tires (roughly 80,000 to 90,000 miles). According to many types of research and experiments, we are aware of the reasonable distance that these tires are capable of, and from our experiences, these researches are very probable.
Overall, the Continental PureContact is a legit all-season tire worth your bucks, and we appreciate Continental Tire for putting a lot of thought into making this product.
