Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac review

Goodyear is one of the world’s largest tire manufacturers based in Akron, Ohio. Goodyear tires are the result of over 100 years of improvements, innovation, and cutting-edge technology, providing high performance and ultimate safety.

The company produced some of the best all-terrain tires, such as the Wrangler DuraTrac, at which we’ll take a closer look in this Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac review.

The all-terrain Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac is a reliable, long-lasting, and flexible tire that can provide on- and off-road traction with enduring treadwear. Its characteristics also offer excellent traction in thin mud, snow, and slippery roads.

The tire offers additional grip and lateral stability thanks to its steeply slanted center tread blocks. Thus, you can use it on both wet and dry surfaces with confidence.

There are also self-cleaning shoulder blocks on the symmetric design, which aids in ejecting any pebbles, debris, and mud for better traction. Your wheels won’t suffer from any mud build-up after moving through muddy terrains.

This tire is built for SUVs, trucks, and commercial vehicles with an innovative rubber compound that can handle the daily heavy loading tasks. The rugged tread also makes the tire ideal for hauling and towing.

Additionally, Goodyear formulates the rubber to improve the tire’s resistance to chips, cuts, and chunking. It also enhances handling on hard surfaces, especially when the car moves at high speed or brakes suddenly.

However, most all-terrain tires are slightly loud on the road due to the aggressive tread design, and the Wrangler DuraTrac is no exception.

Pros
  • Excellent off-road traction
  • Outstandingly durable tread wear
  • Snow traction is on par with any snow tire
  • Reliable performance in wet surfaces
  • Pleasant ride
Cons
  • Pricey
  • A little noisy, particularly when traveling on dry tarmac

Tire Drive Test

Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac, Is it THAT good?

After using the Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac for more than a year, we agree that it’s a powerhouse in the category. Fantastic traction and handling on rugged, bumpy roads and good tread life are what you can reasonably expect from this Goodyear’s creation.

This tire is rather noisy, but they do offer the off-road traction that you need. Due to the bold tread design, little wonder it produces more noise compared to a highway touring tire. Yet, that’s a trade-off for all the perks you enjoy from it.

We’ve driven on this tire in the snow without trouble, and we must say that its snow traction favorably compares with specialty snow/winter tires.

Wrangler DuraTrac is a combination of great handling, a pleasant ride, and a sporty look. It’s a great choice whether you drive them to your workplace or for a leisurely ride.Perhaps, you have had significant trust in this tire at the end of this Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac review. They’re specifically designed for drivers that need dependable on- and off-road traction and handling. If you can overlook the noise, this product is one of the best all-around off-road tires available.

Last year, my husband showed great foresight when he replaced his tires with an amazing set of all-weather performance ones for our converted 1-ton 4×4 van. We were so satisfied that we decided to do the same when it was time to replace tires on my Explorer – and haven’t been disappointed! With 20,000 miles under their belts already in a snowy Northern Michigan climate where driving can be tricky at times due to bad weather conditions, these snow treads are providing more than adequate grip and security I need on the road.

Plus I love how they look! Moreover having rim protector is proving very useful as well; ensuring peace of mind not only now but potentially for many years into tbe future too.

With only a few weeks in the driveway, my Jeep’s new tires have already proven to be smooth and dependable – whether traversing dry roads or weathering wintry conditions. During Christmas 2020’s Winter Storm, 6 inches of snow and freezing rain blanketed Pennsylvania; yet these sturdy tyres were more than up for the task!

My teenager and I ventured out during a storm, which proved to be no match for these tires. Even under the pressure of multiple hills, they stayed hardy and reliable on our highway travels – despite taking a slight hit in gas mileage. With confidence in them restored, we can’t wait to take them off-road at Rausch Creek!

I’m impressed with my second set of DuraTracs – they’re the best tires I’ve ever owned! Living in Central New York and having a 2007 Duramax, these amazing tires give me trustworthy traction even after 25k miles. Unbelievable wear life too; looks like I can expect one more season out of them before needing to replace. Highly recommended for everyone!

When bird hunting in Eastern Oregon and Washington, sporting a sturdy set of Wrangler DuraTrac tires is an absolute must! Not only are they strong enough to handle even the worst rain, snow or mud – but their world-class traction off-road will keep your vehicle under control. Plus these beauties can clean themselves too! Put simply – you won’t regret choosing them for your adventures.

With an affordable price and easy-to-find selection of tires, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality when my Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac 255/75r17s arrived for my 2017 Jeep Cherokee KL. The sidewalls were flawless with no visible cracks or scuffs while the tread appeared new rather than worn down – a huge relief after ordering online! Overall, it’s been an extremely positive experience that has gone above and beyond expectations.

After going the distance on my 2016 F150’s stock tires, I decided to step it up a notch with 35″ DuraTracs and complete this look with a stylish 4″ suspension lift plus brand new 20″ wheels. The ride is amazing – far better than before! Although slightly louder due to bigger tires, it was still barely noticeable.

From snowstorms and rain in northern IN all the way up to 60°F temperatures – both off-roading (or maybe just some farm field driving 😉 )–I’m extremely pleased with my purchase; already 1,000 miles away from home sweet home!
