About Ohtsu

Ohtsu is a Japanese tire manufacturer belonging to Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI). For over 30 years, Ohtsu tires have provided fantastic driving experiences to drivers worldwide.

Their tires come with good design, providing a comfortable ride and responsive steering. Thus, whether you own a passenger car, SUV, sports car, or light truck, you can always get Ohtsu tires at competitive prices.

Ohtsu FP0612 AS is one of its product lines, conquering customers with its quality and affordable price. In this Ohtsu FP0612 AS review, we’ll bring a closer view to see what it can offer.

Design

This tire features a topsy-turvy track design, giving this model steadiness performance on the dry and wet road surface. This feature seems to be the genuine benefit of this product.

Also, its bigger block provides a better cornering grip, helping your vehicle increase stability when riding at high speeds.

Tread

The circumferential and angled grooves around its tread help increase water-evacuating ability, improving wet grip.

In addition, the FP0612 A/S features an asymmetric tread and block construction to provide more traction in  extreme conditions such as snow, ice, or some loose surfaces such as mud and gravel.

Noise

The noise level of the FP0612 A/S is approximately average. The tires are quiet from low to medium speeds, but you might suffer the more tire roar as you get closer to highway speeds.

But given the low price, we were impressed with the low noise level of the OHTSU all-season tires.

Handling

It’s worth noting that the stopping distance is on par with other costly tire models. The FP0612 efficiently disperses water with four columnar grooves, and deep sipes create dependable traction on moist roads.

Personal Opinion: Ohtsu FP0612 AS Tire Reviews

It is very difficult to balance dry and wet performance, grip, noise level, treadwear, and price. Those looking for a mid-range product often have to sacrifice their priorities. In any case, it is better to choose the best tire you can afford.

The FP0612 A/S truly astounded us with the performance you get at the lower cost. Whether cruising through the countryside or passing different vehicles on the roadway, the tire’s directing reaction and cornering grasp are sure.

We have made smooth and safe turns on the slippery road in the rain. That’s why we can make sure this specific tire offers excellent handling and cornering grip on wet and dry road surfaces.

Designed to provide all-season traction and the comfort of touring tires, OHTSU promised the FP0612 could be pulled off on all stages.

Ride comfort is another big plus of this tire, thanks to its tread design and high angled tread grooves. Although its performance can not be as well as Michelin’s or Pirelli’s, you might view the ride as much smoother and more agreeable than you would suspect.

Yet, our worrisome problem is its performance  on ice and hard-stuffed snow. With this tough condition, you will probably experience issues with acceleration and deceleration. It’s essentially anticipated.

The other issue we’ve found out is a surprisingly short track life, albeit this has not been a worry for us.

By and large, this Ohtsu tire is one of the better minimal expense tires in its group. It conveys strong execution, and the cost is brilliant for anybody hoping to get a good deal on new tires.

Moreover, this product comes in a size range from 14 to 18 inches and is available with H, V, and W-speed ratings. So, it can be a suitable choice for almost all driver types, such as sedans, sporty crossovers, and sports coupes.

However, as mentioned before, if you are in a country with harsh winter, which can have ice roads,  this one is not recommended.
