Toyo Open Country AT III reviews

An Overall Introduction

Toyo Open Country A/T III tires have become increasingly popular recently. So what are the key reasons for this trend? Our Toyo Open Country A/T III will put an end to your curiosity.

The Toyo Brand

Toyo debuted its first appearance in 1945 in Japan. Through time, Toyo Tires has successfully built its brand name as the leading supplier for SUV, crossover, and light truck tires on mud-terrain.

Launched at the beginning of 2020, Toyo Open Country A/T III is one of the latest versions. The generation gets 3PMSF qualification, which stands for the Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol. This shows the Toyo Open Country A/T III satisfies the experiment’s required features to be rated as a perfect option in severe snow conditions.

Key Features

Traction

The Open Country A/T III pairs 3D Multi-Wave Sipes with an edge-cutting tread compound to enhance stability and wet and dry traction. This combination helps maintain the long-lasting ability against chips and cuts, permitting these tires to keep the grip for years.

In addition, specific lateral grooves bolster resistance to water and enhance the traction in freezing or snowy conditions.

Treadwear

The interwoven interior tread segments of the A/T 3 tires are the biggest design difference compared to its predecessor. Manufacturers have also equipped their tires with more void and biting edges between the tread blocks, which are delivered evenly.

These improvements vastly increase the level of off-road grip, adapting to most mud-terrains. This design would permit these tires to keep their initial look even if they were worn.

Noise

The S-pattern for tread blocks has fewer gaps among the blocks but offers an adequate amount of the tread contacting the surface. This feature plays a role in hydroplaning evacuation and keeping a good grip and less noise level. Thereby its run will become smoother after each use.

Braking

The shoulder lugs and tread blocks equipped with multi-waved sipes will bring excellent traction in snow, wet or icy conditions. Thus, these tires grip and hug the road very well, even if hard braking, accelerating, or at cornering.

Comfort

All of these advances above in tread pattern and tread compound promote shock-proof ability, increase the grip, reduce the noise level; from that, it brings comfort for drivers when riding.

Toyo Open Country A/T III – Tire Drive Test

We have years of experience in using various types of tires. Below we will share our personal thoughts about Toyo Open Country A/T 3 tires.

  • This model reaches new breakthroughs in tire construction, tread patterns, and siping. This belongs to one of the most key reasons why it has got a 3PMSF rating.
  • The Country A/T III tire comes in 127 sizes, which is compatible with wheels 15-inch to 22-inch. The Toyo producer offers a great warranty of backing up to 65,000 miles of treadwear in P-metric and 50,000 miles in LT.
  • Producers use two-ply polyester and one nylon ply in the interior tire construction to generate a firm and durable foundation for these casings. By means of these set-ups, this product has great speed capability and further durability.
  • We have also known that this variant is the outcome of thousands of experimenting miles and many rounds of improvement. Thus, it is released to become an excellent version for all-terrain tires.

Nevertheless, this new generation is relatively pricey compared to its predecessor. Besides, some drivers have not yet reached the full range of outstanding features of Toyo Open Country A/T III tires.

At this point, we can conclude that you should be confident to choose this tire brand for upgrading your crossover, which frequently runs on snowy roads and in wet conditions.

After much deliberation and research, I decided to give a new set of tires – the BFG KO2s- a go. Much to my pleasant surprise they weren’t as noisy or sloppy as expected – in fact their steering responses were outstanding!

Size was no issue either; although they looked smaller than what I had replaced them with, on closer inspection these ones turned out exactly the same size. All said and done this investment has been nothing short of worthwhile!

I’m absolutely thrilled with the tires I have; they never meant to be together, yet somehow are! They offer both practicality for everyday use and comfort that make them perfect for any driving situation.

Always ensure your tire is continually inflated—it’s a small but important step towards an even better ride quality. Overall, these tires satisfy my needs more than most so I’ll definitely buy again soon!

I recently upgraded to larger tires for my previous vehicle and it made a huge difference! My commute was smooth, my light-moderate offroading adventures were breeze. It handled the highway with quietness & on the dirt tracks I had great traction – all without any rock crawling involved!

So when I got myself an even better ride named Gladiator, they were just as suitable. Needless to say that these particular brand of tire is perfect for this type of activities in its price range – now both rides are ready go wherever life takes me next!

I am beyond pleased with my purchase of the Toyo AT tires for my truck in 2017. After having previous success and confidence using BFG KO2’s, I wanted to ensure that their replacements would meet the same quality standard – luckily they have surpassed it!

Living back home here in Rhode Island has presented a lot of challenging conditions when driving during rain, snowfall or slushy roads yet these new tires remain undeterred by all weather extremities. Not only do they provide improved stability but also less rolling resistance and noise too; an exceptional product which I fully endorse!

Recently, I treated my trusty Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk to a nice upgrade: fresh tires. With much better dry and wet traction than the original Firestone Destinations it left with, I’m excited to take them for a spin come wintertime here in Pittsburgh!
