Which Outstanding Features Does Yokohama Avid Ascend GT Have?

Before deep-diving into our Yokohama Avid Ascend GT, let’s first take a look at its producing company.

Yokohama Tire Corporation

Yokohama Tire Corporation is one of the first tire manufacturing companies in Japan. Since its foundation in 1917, the business has been well-known for producing high-quality tires due to design and development advancement.

After expanding their branch to the United States in 1969, they quickly became one of the world’s leaders in cutting-edge manufacturing technologies. Yokohama also received ISO9001 certification for various issues, including model company, manufacturing, and related services.

What’s more? The company continuously improves its products at a slightly affordable price to meet the needs of those on a tight budget but still want to be exposed to Yokohama’s products.

Yokohama Avid Ascend GT

The Avid Ascend GT is one of their new generation touring tire line-ups of Yokohama. It has incorporated the latest technology of the manufacturers with all-season traction to bring a better experience for consumers.

Yokohama claims that this kind of all-season tire has excellent traction for all types of vehicles since it can perform well year-round regardless of how the weather is. Thanks to compound technology in line with low Tg-polymer content and high silicon, these tires have an increasing grip in both dry and wet conditions.

Its non-symmetric tread pattern contributes to a better grip and traction and brings stable contact with the road. This will be one plus for this Avid Ascend GT because not all touring tires have them.

The design of four deep circumferential grooves associated with unsymmetrical widths helps stop hydroplaning and improve water evacuation.

Furthermore, the Yokohama offers a treadwear warranty of up to 65,000 miles or 5-years of use for this type of tire. Although this assurance is not the best, it fits with an affordable price compared to other categories.

The brand also has a uniformity guarantee that comes into effect for the first 2/32 inches of wear and allows any replacement for the first year of use if having any detection on the wearing of the tire. They offer 30 days for you to drive the test – what could be more wonderful than that?

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Good grip and dry weather traction
  • Good resistance to hydroplaning and wet traction
  • Provides quiet and comfortable travel regardless of speed
  • Outstanding water-resistant feature
  • Economical price
Cons
  • Unapealing treadwear warranties

Should I Buy A Yokohama AVID Ascend GT?

As a tire lover, we have some of our real experiences for you to refer to before you decide to buy one.

If you’re seeking an all-season touring tire that makes a quiet noise and provides comfort at any speed, this could be one of the best options for you.

As the brand said, Avid Ascend GT has good dry traction and excellent performance on a slippery road. That’s pretty true, as we recognized that the tire could alleviate the risk of hydroplaning and offered good control in water puddles, bringing more safety on rainy days.

Thanks to the new Orange Oil and BluEarth technology, the tire also helps us save fuel efficiency, protect the environment, and simultaneously keep an economical budget.

If you live in areas with mild winters and a small amount of snow falling every year, Avid Ascend GT can help you move easily. The traction in light snow is one of the advantages of this all-season touring category.

Nevertheless, you should refer to some other tires if you are looking for a tire to use in an area with heavy-falling snow and full-covered icy.

Despite this minor shortcoming, Yokohama Avid Ascend GT is still a perfect choice for those on a tight budget but expect a good driving experience at any speed!

Hopefully, our review has provided you with sufficient information. Now, let’s find your perfect tires!

Living in a winter wonderland can be daunting, but with the Subaru Forester AWD and Avid Ascend tires I was never left slipping; it performed amazingly for 3 full years!

After only a month and hundreds of miles on the road, these tires have proven themselves to be an excellent purchase! Not only did they provide great traction in snow conditions–minimal sliding for take-off or stopping with skid control coming into play when needed–but there were no issues at all even during periods of rain.

Furthermore, hydroplaning has never been experienced thus far. As I haven’t driven them on ice yet, I can’t speak as confidently about their performance here; that said, through thick and thin (or snow!) so far these tires are sure winners in my book! A good price tag certainly sweetens the deal – it’s safe to say I’ll most likely buy again should such need arise down the line.

With over 20,000 miles of dependable service under my belt, I can confidently state that these tires offer the best snow and wet traction around. Even when faced with off-road conditions such as dirt or mud roads, they remain consistent in their performance.

The only drawback would be the noise levels on newer pavement surfaces – especially if it’s raining outside. Nonetheless overall this tire is an excellent investment and one which I’m happy to make again!

After extensive research, I chose a Yokohama Ascend GT tire for my A6 2.0T Quattro and am pleased with its performance after 5,000 miles—it appears almost as good as new! They hold up well in many different settings; unfortunately they are noisier than the original Pirelli tires that had 30K+ miles on them. At higher speeds of 55MPH+, driving on smooth roads can be accompanied by whiny noises from these wheels.

I recently decided to upgrade my original Bridgestone tires, and opted for Yokohama. I could instantly tell the difference between them; they are almost whisper-quiet when driving which is a great perk on long journeys! My new tyres have proven themselves in all kinds of treacherous weather conditions like snow, hard rain and freezing temperatures that reach as low as 27F up to 62F – yet still maintain incredible traction.

Thus far these tire replacements haven’t failed me having already put 1,500 miles under their belts including a 600 mile round trip from Maryland through heavy rainfall into New Jersey with 3 inches deep snow coverings!

On top of this confidence boost concerning safety performance however was something more pertinent: fuel efficiency. As it stands the gas mileage remains unpaired producing similar results compared pre-installation taking some burden off my mind financially too!

I invested in the tire last year, and it has weathered Big Bear Snow as well rainy days with incredible performance. I could attest to its superiority over my Continental noise tires – driving on highways is a synch!

When faced with an off-road camping adventure recently, this trusty tire didn’t let me down either. Not only does durability come standard but so does stylishness at 30k miles for these wheels – truly worth every penny!

After experiencing a tumultuous ride with OEM Continental tires on my BMW 3-Series wagon, I decided to try something new: Yokohama performance tires. After reading countless reviews and recommendations from peers, it was clear these were the ideal tire for this model of car. Whether driving along wet roads or headed into an icy winter season, these well rated snow tires have handled like champs throughout more than 5500 miles so far – barely showing signs of wear!

With excellent traction even under pressure and AWD capabilities providing added agility in tricky conditions; transitioning away from run flats has been one smooth move indeed! It’s easy to see why I’m already looking forward to fitting them again when the time comes – no question about that here.
