As a fan of SUV tires, you must have heard of Kumho Tires. Kumho is well-known among the most reliable tire manufacturers in Korea. Established for above 60 years, they have successfully improved their products and developed a reputation for trustworthiness. Remarkably, Kumho Ecsta Ecsta 4X II KU22 is an all-season tire of this brand. Let’s read our review to have an in-depth knowledge of this product!
Overall, the Ecsta 4X II KU22 is one of the most impressive opponents in the battle of SUV tires. The silica tread designed with an asymmetric shape, intermediate tread blocks and huge shoulder blocks on the outside enables the tire to handle well and improve the damping ability. Additionally, the Rib notching around the product increases stability to prevent bumping. These features also lead to better noise reduction to bring you a comfortable ride.
Turning to tractions, the Kumho Ecsta 4X II KU22 can perform wells in any weather condition. This product has a high level of wet traction because of its circumferential grooves and additional lateral grooves. It works even better in dry conditions thanks to the sipes all around the tread to provide biting edges.
However, according to many customers’ reviews, the light snow and ice traction is not the strength of this product compared to other tires in the same segment. On the other hand, its braking and cornering grip can surpass almost all of its rivals.
The temperature of the 4X II KU 22 receives an A, which shows that it can handle well in high temperatures when driving a long way with high speed. It is because Kumho uses ESCOT technology to distribute pressure to keep the tire cool all the time.
Additionally, the tire can provide a fast speed of braking as for all-season compound tires.

Kumho Ecsta 4X II KU22 Test Drive
Being fans of SUV tires, we have used the Kumho Ecsta 4X II KU22 for a long time. Here is our personal reviews:
The Kumho Ecsta 4X KU22 is one of the most outstanding products in affordable all-season tires we have ever tested.
Thanks to its tread design and the rib notching around, the damping function can work better even when you drive in the most bumpy street. For that reason, we can ensure you will have a comfortable and quiet ride using this tire.
And what surprises us most is its brake and cornering grip. They work excellently to keep you driving safely and smoothly. Compared to other tires in the current market, we think Kumho has done a better job improving these features.
Besides, the dry traction is quite impressive with silica-enhanced compounds, and grooves enhance the wet traction to provide you with a safe drive.
However, there is one thing we think Kumho needs to fix in their next product. The snow and ice tractions do not work well, so the stopping distance of this tire is longer than its rivals’. But do not worry much because this feature will not cause you any accidents.
Overall, besides weaknesses in snow and ice tractions, the tire’s performance is good at dry traction, gripping and brake, handling, noise reduction, and temperature. That is why we highly recommend you to have this product through our review if you are looking for an economical tire.
