T/A KO2 tires include a racing-inspired substance that offers a longer lifespan, which resists the cutting, chip, and tears with an aggressive, high-prevention, computer-optimized, all-terrain design that combines tread blocks.

Furthermore, the manufacturer has created innovative siping, loose item release capabilities to combine off-road toughness with on-road performance.

The upper sidewall armor has a more vital, twice as thick sidewall rubber compound as its predecessor and a serrated shoulder design. This construction provides extra pull and handling via the clutter action to create superior traction on deep mud, snow, wet or dry surface, sand, or rock terrain.

In particular, you can experience 10% improved traction in mud, 19% in snow, and 20% more in sidewall capacity.

The internal structure of the pneumatic tire has two steel belts, strengthened on top of the 3-fold polyester cable sidewall, with a wrapping nylon spiral on the top of the TriGard BFGoodrich.

Single strand beads (a single bead wire bead strand is wrapped continuously until the required strength comes) make the tire conform to the wheel to increase uniformity and quality of riding. The company will give A 50,000-mile Treadwear Warranty for tires using this compound.

Unique 3-D locking sips around the rope offer additional ribs, which enable snow and ice to hold. This is another force for this tire, as numerous driver evaluations have shown.

Pros & Cons

In general, the BFGoodrich T/A KO2 is an excellent tire with many helpful and distinctive characteristics. However, without a pros and drawbacks list, a review would not be complete.

Tire Drive Test

We often drive on very poor roads or dirt tracks that most people would consider to be off-road. Honestly, these tires are the finest all-around tires I’ve ever owned in our life. Now, let’s see what it brought for me.

These tires perform well in the snow, on wet, or dry roads, and they are very flat resistant whether used off-road or on track.

I’ve been in several sticky situations in the Lexus when driving through mud. We did, however, take advantage of the crawl function, which we believe is now accessible. 

When we initially heard about this crawl function, we thought it was a joke, but it turned out to be very useful. Follow the instructions without deliberating too much. Mud tracks, where we was sliding out on them, continue to go forward, although slowly.

However, the weight and rolling resistance of the BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO2 make us a bit disappointed. It is designed for heavy-duty vehicles that travel off-road regularly and/or need a robust, puncture-resistant tire. 

It’s overkill for most purposes, and the tires are typically 20 pounds heavier than a comparable all-season tire. These tires are really boat anchor heavy, and they wreak havoc on your gas economy.

Overall, I’ve chosen to stay with the KO2s until we can get our hands on a more fantastic tire.

    These tires are on a 2003 Toyota Tacoma 5spd 5spd Extended Cab. The dealer removed the tires from my truck and installed BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO tires. I live in the UP of Michigan, and I do a lot of gravel road and mud road driving. These tires are among the most versatile I’ve ever seen. These tires are quiet on the pavement and great for pondering on roads. They can also be used to get you from one end of the road to the other. They last. They last for 75,000 miles. The second set had 70,000 mile and would have last longer if I had had the ball joints replaced sooner. These KO2s were installed after I had done all of the frontend work. The truck has 145,000 miles and I figure that this set of tires will provide 70-75,000 more miles. This makes the truck 220-225,000 in age and well over 20 years. So. These tires are great and I have the history to prove it. PS. These tires have not been used in Mud or Snow ….close. A pickup is not the best choice for skidder trails.

    My set has been my own for three years. I have put 45,000 miles on it, including highway, dirt, and off-road. I am awestruck. These tires have withstanded more abuse than most people who own them. I have been extremely impressed with their performance in all weather conditions. Snow handling is exceptional, especially for an all-terrain vehicle. They can handle deep mud without any problems, slick rocks with no difficulty, downpouring rain like a child’s play, and miles of gravel as smooth as pavement. The wheels also glide at 80 mph on the highway. These tires are durable and I plan to buy another set. My only issue is that they get louder as they age, but not as loud as on mud terrain or similar all-terrain tires. Last, I had some scalloping issues on the tread’s inner portion due to my torsion bars suspension. Overall, I think these tires are the best I’ve ever owned. I would highly recommend them.

    Amazing snow traction. The tires are barely audible. They should get louder with age. They are perfectly balanced and feel great at highway speeds. They feel softer than my previous set, which was two years ago. However, the performance is well worth it. Excellent tires, great transaction.

    These tires were a bit of a mystery to me when I ordered them. But I was very pleased with their performance. These tires are excellent quality and great value. They have been with me for a while, so I am still impressed. They will be replaced with the same tires when they are worn out.

    2017 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk. I was riding OME Falken Wildpeak HD all-season Radials with a M+S rating. I switched to the BF Goodrich KO2 225/65-17 winter tire, which has a more aggressive tread. I was not disappointed. I live in Alaska’s interior, and the snow has been relentless this year. I was able to get stuck with the HT tires a few times, but not with the KO2. It worked just as well where other people were stuck. It could be their driving. Excellent snow traction, both on the highways and trails. Although ice is still slippery on studded tires, it is not as slippery as on other types of tires. Tire cables are made for that reason.

    These tires were a great deal because of their tread pattern. The tread is more aggressive than other all-season highway tires, but it’s still quiet on the highway. The tread compound is softer so I’m excited to test them on ice and snow. They will be used off-road in the future. So far so good.
