BFGoodrich All Terrain TA KO2 review

BFGoodrich, an American tire manufacturer, was established in 1870. The reputation of BFGoodrich has been set up through outstanding performance and many winning titles in global races.

BFGoodrich has produced various tires such as BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO2 tire, BFGoodrich g-Force Sport Comp-2, BFGoodrich® Advantage T/A® Sport LT and others and received a lot of good feedback.

At the start of the 20th century, BFGoodrich was only one of the tire producers in the U.S. It Was at the forefront of research and scientific techniques such as pneumatic wear assessment and lifespan testing and has become the top-quality tire company worldwide.

BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO2 Feature:

BFGoodrich designed the All Terrain T/A KO2, a light truck tire to satisfy the needs of drivers on-off the road, who seek comfort and control in their jeep, and pick-up trucks. Producers built the All Terrain T/A KO2 with excellent durability, low treadwear, getting high speed or baking easily, and year-long grip even in snow.

T/A KO2 tires include a racing-inspired substance that offers a longer lifespan, which resists the cutting, chip, and tears with an aggressive, high-prevention, computer-optimized, all-terrain design that combines tread blocks.

Furthermore, the manufacturer has created innovative siping, loose item release capabilities to combine off-road toughness with on-road performance.

The upper sidewall armor has a more vital, twice as thick sidewall rubber compound as its predecessor and a serrated shoulder design. This construction provides extra pull and handling via the clutter action to create superior traction on deep mud, snow, wet or dry surface, sand, or rock terrain.

In particular, you can experience 10% improved traction in mud, 19% in snow, and 20% more in sidewall capacity.

The internal structure of the pneumatic tire has two steel belts, strengthened on top of the 3-fold polyester cable sidewall, with a wrapping nylon spiral on the top of the TriGard BFGoodrich.

Single strand beads (a single bead wire bead strand is wrapped continuously until the required strength comes) make the tire conform to the wheel to increase uniformity and quality of riding. The company will give A 50,000-mile Treadwear Warranty for tires using this compound.

Unique 3-D locking sips around the rope offer additional ribs, which enable snow and ice to hold. This is another force for this tire, as numerous driver evaluations have shown.

Pros & Cons

In general, the BFGoodrich T/A KO2 is an excellent tire with many helpful and distinctive characteristics. However, without a pros and drawbacks list, a review would not be complete.

Pros
  • Enhanced toughness and rigidity
  • Wear balance rate
  • Excellent traction, cornering performance, braking, and maneuvering
  • Over average performance of tread design
  • Superior traction on wet, snow-covered roads or dry
Cons
  • Heavy weight Noise needs reducing

Tire Drive Test

We often drive on very poor roads or dirt tracks that most people would consider to be off-road. Honestly, these tires are the finest all-around tires I’ve ever owned in our life. Now, let’s see what it brought for me.

These tires perform well in the snow, on wet, or dry roads, and they are very flat resistant whether used off-road or on track.

I’ve been in several sticky situations in the Lexus when driving through mud. We did, however, take advantage of the crawl function, which we believe is now accessible.

When we initially heard about this crawl function, we thought it was a joke, but it turned out to be very useful. Follow the instructions without deliberating too much. Mud tracks, where we was sliding out on them, continue to go forward, although slowly.

However, the weight and rolling resistance of the BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO2 make us a bit disappointed. It is designed for heavy-duty vehicles that travel off-road regularly and/or need a robust, puncture-resistant tire.

It’s overkill for most purposes, and the tires are typically 20 pounds heavier than a comparable all-season tire. These tires are really boat anchor heavy, and they wreak havoc on your gas economy.

Overall, I’ve chosen to stay with the KO2s until we can get our hands on a more fantastic tire.

Conclusion

There is no doubt that the BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO2 tire offers excellent performance and provides tough off-road traction in all conditions.

Thanks to the expert recommendation of a dealer, I am now traveling with confidence on my 2003 Toyota Tacoma 5spd Extended Cab thanks to BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO tires. They offer an optimal combination for navigating Michigan’s back roads – eliminating noise when driving on pavement, providing steadfast stability and control in all environmental conditions, even through deep mud! With their impressive estimated longevity of 75 thousand miles, these are certainly among the most versatile tires out there.

Installing a new set of KO2s after some front-end work enabled me to get an impressive 70-75,000 additional miles out of my truck. Now with 145,000 total miles and well over 20 years in age, these tires have been great – I’ve even got the history to back it up!

Although they don’t offer Mud or Snow capabilities as close as one would expect from a pickup truck on skidder trails, they are still hardworking enough for any terrain.

After three years and 45,000 miles of hard-wearing use across highways, dirt roads, off-road trails and more, I am continually impressed with the performance these tires offer. From outstanding snow handling to navigating deep mud effortlessly; from skimming slick rocks without a problem to confidently cruising at 80mph on highway – my wheels have truly seen it all!

The rain is no match for their exhaustive capability either – they make light work of downpours like nothing else. My awe will never cease when it comes to such resilient quality!

I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing these tires for myself and I can attest to their impressive durability. As they age, there could be a slight increase in tire noise – though it’s still quieter than many other all-terrain models out there! Additionally, my torsion bars suspension caused some scalloping on the inner treads but apart from that minor issue it has been an overall outstanding experience with this product; highly recommended!

I was pleasantly surprised when I ordered my tires – they exceeded all of my expectations! Not only are they superbly built and competitively priced, but their remarkable durability has kept me impressed even after many miles. When these finally wear out, it’s definitely going to be the same type of tire again for me.

Winter in Alaska’s interior is notoriously harsh – with snow unrelentingly packing the roads and trails. But I was prepared, outfitted with my 2017 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk riding OME Falken Wildpeak HD all-season Radials that had an M+S rating.

Taking extra precautions for these difficult conditions, I switched to BF Goodrich KO2 225/65-17 winter tires which boast a much more aggressive tread; leaving me pleasantly surprised by their excellent traction on highways as well studded ice alike! No getting stuck this year – only great driving experiences thanks to thoughtful preparation ahead of time.

I’m thrilled with my purchase of these tires – they have an aggressive tread and soft compound, making them suitable for a range of driving conditions. I’ve been very pleased so far: smooth performance on the highway, even quieter than expected! I can’t wait to put their grip and stability on ice & snow or take them off-road; here’s hoping it continues to be good news all around!
