Kelly Edge A/S Reviews

Design

This model has a superior design that can handle and maintain great traction in almost all weather conditions, including snow and rain.

  • Tread: It has a special pattern to eliminate slush and water from the ground. Water is channeled beneath the tire by the circumferential grooves, while the lateral sipes have the same function on the sides.

Besides, the biting block edges enhance the traction on slippery surfaces, even if the vehicle is at a higher speed.

  • Belt: The dual belt is made from steel incorporated with the nylon reinforcement included in the internal construction. It exaggerates the treadlife and supports the stability of the tire.
  • Thanks to the 500 UTQG ratings, the view within or over 50K miles out of the tread is visible.
  • All T, V, or H speed ratings are available.

Tire Sizes

The Kelly Edge A/S diameter ranges from 14 to 17 inches.

According to the mentioned sizes and rating of this product, it is considered to be appropriate for compact or subcompact cars, minivans, and mid-size sedans.

Dry, Wet, and Snow Performance

The strongest point of the Kelly Edge A/S for daily function is the stability on the highway. In dry conditions, the safety is ensured at the common speed on town roads or even harder than that.

The product seems to perform badly on the slippery road on rainy days. Particularly, there is a decrease in the tire’s mojo when it runs on wet ground. The traction is not guaranteed when it comes to the corners.

There is also a limitation when the Kelly Edge A/S works in snowy weather. The grip and traction cannot handle the deep snow, resulting in a long run to stop.

Off-Road Driving

The Kelly Edge A/S is not a wise choice for off-road driving. Its design, especially the tread pattern, is not enough to provide the high traction handling the slippery terrains.

There are rocks with sharp sides existing on the road. So, the tire would be easily damaged while the treadwear accelerates.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Acceptable traction for dry conditions.
  • Highway stability.
  • Firm braking and handling.
  • Economical.
  • Quiet running in town and highway.
  • Amazing tread wear and treadlife.
Cons
  • Bad wet and snow traction.

Personal Evaluation

The reviews have given comprehensive information about the product, and here is our answer to the question: Should I buy it?.

What Do We Like?

The first and foremost benefit is the friendly price offered for this tire from the Kelly brand.

Besides, Kelly is a well-known brand in selling tires for vehicles. It means the quality and warranty of the product are ensured.

It is reasonable to invest if you are looking for a daily driving tire with stable performance and soft noise on town routes and the highway.

The Kelly Edge A/S has better performance and features than other competitors at the same price.

The Weakness

Generally, there is no significant difference between the looks of Kelly Edge A/S and other competitors.

Another disadvantage to taking into account is the tire’s winter performance. To be honest, the traction is under average level, although it is promoted to be all-season.

If you have better financial potential and expect advanced performance, you can invest in more luxury options.

After seven months and 3,000 miles on my Kelly Edge A/S tires, I noticed a bulge on the driver’s side tire. Due to the wear all four tires were at 3/32nd (out of 9/32). Driving that vehicle in our smooth southern roads with minimal potholes or road hazards it seems these tires have not been able to stand up to their 10,000-mile promise; they are very noisy and experience rapid tread loss – despite no hot riding activities.

When I purchased my Jeep Grand Cherokee, a set of off-brand tires came preinstalled. Initially hesitant about the brand name, I soon changed my mind – these tires are impressively quiet and extremely smooth on even bumpy roads! Gas mileage is also commendable.

To top it all off, these budget tires navigated wet trails effortlessly with no slipping despite having to traverse steep inclines thanks to the QD2 system – an amazing value for money purchase!

I recently had the pleasure of trying Kelly Tires for the first time, and I was not disappointed. After purchasing two tires to replace my 2005 Corolla’s outdated ones, I saw such great results that getting new tires for my wife’s 2008 Subaru seemed like the right move – four being necessary due to it having all-wheel drive.

The aggressive tread pattern really grabs hold of any terrain while still providing a smooth ride with minimal noise; extra peace-of-mind when snow comes this Winter! All in all an outstanding choice at a very reasonable price – one which leaves me feeling certain about going back to Kelly again soon!

We were disappointed when we had to replace our shiny new tires after only 20000 miles – that’s a third of the expected mileage! It was an unexpected expense, but with such low durability unfortunately it couldn’t be avoided.
