Bridgestone Blizzak WS80 Reviews – Best Tires For Snow

By David Barlow
Last Updated: December 14, 2020

Blizzak is one of the most popular types of tires in the automotive tire industry. This brand’s products are beneficial in severe winter monsoon conditions. Our article Bridgestone Blizzak WS80 Reviews below will provide you with a lot of useful information about this product’s outstanding features from the Bridgestone brand.

Bridgestone Blizzak WS80: Overview

Design

Bridgestone produces the Blizzak WS80 in popular sizes for small cars such as compact sedans, minivans, or micro crossovers. Therefore, the tire size will range from 14 inches to 19 inches, which is suitable for most of the small cars available on the world car market.

The question is, if you already own a full-season hood, do you need to spare this WS80 again?
The answer is yes. WS80 is essential if you have to travel on heavy snow. Regular all-season tires can only work well with light layers of snow. Conversely, if the snow is falling too hard, only specialized tires like the WS80 can bring you a sense of safety.

Feature

Blizzak WS80 has always been one of the best-designed tires as it gives you complete control of the space even in the harshest weather and road conditions. Besides, they clearly state that WS80 is a leader in snow and ice control after large-scale field tests.

To do this, the manufacturer used a material called Multi-cell in the form of solid particles. This material is exclusively manufactured from the company’s factory. Thanks to this technology, the roof’s front coating become more hydrophilic, increasing friction and adhesion to the surface of slippery roads, long snow, or ice.

Bridgestone‘s famous symmetrical spikes system has also been incorporated to increase the rock mass’s strength and rigidity. As a result, you can control the wheel with more sensitivity. Besides, the contact area of this foam is 15% larger on average than for similar-sized crates. The reason is the grooves along the longitudinal trucks of the crown are zigzag-shaped and quite deep.

Thanks to improved Silica properties, WS80 is somewhat more flexible on the outside and more rigid at the core. This makes your car more convenient to move in the cold winter. Snow scissors are also greatly enhanced by the features mentioned above and technologies.

Advantage and Disadvantage

This foam has some notable highlights as follows:

The acceleration of this tire is not inferior to any other tire. Its strength is more evident in cases of slippery roads or heavy snow. As explained, to achieve this, the manufacturer has attempted to upgrade its roofing material to be particularly well adapted to extreme weather conditions.

The solid core construction makes this bike extremely responsive to the brakes. The solid core integration is extremely important when driving at high speeds or in adverse weather.

The only downside to this product may be that Bridgestone does not provide you with any form of warranties. It can make you afraid to buy defective or uncensored products.

These tires excel in snow (lighter and deeper snow), ice, and slush. These tires are very easy to control in bad weather conditions. Tires don’t offer much traction on wet and dry pavements, so steering at highway speeds feels very unstable. These tires are not able to provide a lot of traction so I can’t say that I feel comfortable driving at higher speeds with them.

The difference between these and other snow tires is almost like night and day. I race ice racing with WS-80s and they perform almost as well as street legal studded tires. They are great for spirited driving on the road, both wet or dry, even though I have only raced them on ice. I purchased WS-80s in December and drove them on until December. They retained their tread depth and offered great snow traction.

These tires are among the best on the market. They have completely changed the winter driving experience for me. I haven’t been using them for very long. With all-weather tires, my car was out of control in any amount of snow. But now I feel grounded and secure. They are highly recommended! They are highly recommended!

A 2010 Silverado with blizzak tires was my first purchase. It handled well in the winter upstate New York conditions. When we bought our wife’s malibu last year, she had to struggle through the winter on all-purpose radials. I knew that the blizzaks were available and I was determined to find them again this year.

The Buffalo area gets a lot of snow, mostly from the lake effect. However, I spend a lot time in Vermont which gets a lot of snow. These tires were purchased to prepare for Vermont’s snowy winters and the hilly terrain. These tires have allowed me to get more snow and ice in Buffalo, ironically. The tires made my Civic ride feel more stable and glued to the road than before. The Civic’s low position pushing snowdrifts to the surface of the roads has not made it difficult to unplow streets after heavy snowfalls. These snow tires gave me a noticeable improvement in road grip. I also had no problems with the noise on the roads, unlike my girlfriend’s snow tire which is almost unbearable on the highway. These snow tires are excellent for winter tires.

I was able to drive my car through winter thanks to these tires. Before I bought them, I was a wreck every time I drove in snowy or icy conditions. Excellent rain traction! Although the ride is slightly stiffer and more heavy, it’s well worth it for peace of mind.

They are great tires. They have been my favorite tires for many years. I have tires on all four wheels of three cars (Toyota Honda, Mini, and Honda) and they work great.

Have had blizzards since 1998 excellent choice. We live in a high-snow area. You can travel to cities and country roads. You can travel a lot in both winter and summer. It’s great all year for winter, especially if you have deep snow and dry pavement.
